La Nuit (Pierre Truffaut) is a fictional character, a French mutant and superhero in the Marvel Comics universe, he was a member of the second team of X-Force. La Nuit (The Night) was created by Peter Milligan (writer) and Mike Allred (artist), first appearing in X-Force #116.
He was teamed with Battering Ram, U-Go Girl, Plazm and other X-Force members on a mission to North Africa. Like with all their missions, Doop, a flying green creature, films them. On this particular one, they lose Sluk to a tank explosion.
Back home, after the mission, Gin Genie, his teammate, is experiencing an anxiety attack. He offers sensible advice to calm down, but then insults her by mentioning 'skin blotches'. This brings a sarcastic mention of his 'Gallic charm'.
La Nuit and the others are called to the meeting hall for a briefing by Coach, their leader. He talks of a media-friendly mission, where the good guys defeat the bad guys. La Nuit sarcastically asks which category X-Force falls under.
Money-hungry terrorists have taken over the New York studios of 'Sonic TV' and captured the popular boy band 'Boyz R Us'. Already one of the band members has been killed and tossed out the window.
Bypassing the crowds outside, U-Go Girl teleports the team straight into the building. The mission is going well until an attack helicopter opens fire. La Nuit, most of the terrorists, the boy band survivors and most of X-Force all die. Doop, Anarchist and U-Go Girl are all that are left. The latter kills the helicopter crew. Anarchist kills the remaining ground troops.
He receives a statue next to Sluk, inside the X-Force cafe. Later, the X-Man Wolverine uncovers evidence showing Zeitgeist and Coach planning the Boyz R Us massacre.
La Nuit could project a veil of dark energy, presumably in the same way as Darkstar or the Shroud. It is unknown if his powers had any connection to the Darkforce dimension.
